Gov. Earl K. Long renewed today his charges that attendants at the Southeast Louisiana State hospital at Mandeville were "schooled in brutality/'
He said, "I wasn't about to be crazy" when he was committed there last month as a para-
noid schizophrenic* The ailing governor—he has had a stroke, heart trouble and nervous breakdown—arrived at his farm here early today after an automobile trip from Baton Rouge. Leaving Plans
He said he plans to leave to-i morrow for a vacation trip,\ with Shreveport as his first? stop and Fort Worth as the second.
Long told Mrs. Margaret Dixon of the Baton Rouge Morning Advocate he has structed his attorneys to suit Monday in district coi for $2 million against Time] Inc.
He said the action would be brought by attorney J< Arthur Sims in 19th Distrid court at Baton Rouge for wha-he claimed were "slanderoui} articles and pictures" in Timej and Life magazines.

They were particularly critical of a picture which showed the governor on the edge of a bed in a Covington motel last week in bed clothes arid without his false teeth.
He said of all the places he has been, "Mandeville the worst. There's lots brutality. Those people a^e schooled in brutality."
The governor added th4t Dr. Charles Belcher, whom he fired as Mandeville supei intendent in a move th. gained Long's release, never return as superintendent
Bankston 'Through' And he vowed former hos«|j pitals director Jesse Bankston, fired in the same power-packed maneuver, is through while Long is governor.
Long said J. M. Pete Mene-fee of Monroe, Sen. Rayburn, Rep. McLain and State Police Lt. Russell Willie would accompany him on the vacation trip.
Long said Sims may catch up with the party along the route and that Dr. Paul Pratt, the psyhciatrist who has been attending Long since his release from the hospital, is expected to join the party "today. Will Leave Early
