More than 1000 physicians, from all sections of the United States, are expected to converge on New Orleans March 3 for the opening of the 21st annual meeting of the New Orleans Graduate Medical Assembly.
The convention will be held at the Roosevelt hotel, with sessions scheduled to last through March 6. According to Dr. Charles Lafayette Brown, assembly president, advance registration indicates it will be the largest in the history of the organization.
For the first time this; year, the assembly has been officially approved for category by the commission on education of the American Academy of General Practice. This means that general practitioners, who attend all of the convention sessions, will be given 30 hours of credit toward the hours they must put in yearly in refresher courses in order to remain accredited members of the academy. 'Newer Diuretic Agents'
An added feature of this year's meeting will be a symposium on "Newer Diuretic Agents,'* to be held March 6 at 3 p. m. Serving as moderator will be Dr. John H. Moyer, Philadelphia, Penn., chairman of the department of medicine of the Hahnemann Medical college and hospital of Philadelphia.
As usual with the Graduate Medical Assembly, speakers will include top experts in the various medical fields. Luncheon .meetings will intersperse morning and afternoon sessions, with night sessions also scheduled. Brief recesses will be called between speeches to permit delegates to visit the 105 technical exhibits.
