Ancient man had a maxim: A sound mind in a sound body.
For many centuries, the phrase "sound mind" meant intelligence, education, literacy.
Today, it means much more than that. It means a mind free from nagging fears and compulsions. In other words—mental health.
Dr. Loyd Rowland called this "psychological robustness" at a free public forum on mental health last night in the LSU medical school auditorium. The forum was sponsored by the medical school, The Item and
the Louisiana Association for Mental Health. PHOTO: HERE WERE SOME of the participants last night at The Item, LSU Medical School, Louisiana Association for Mental Health forum. At left are Mrs. Bertha Theard and Margaret Delatte.
and (at right) panelists Dr. G. W. Davis. Dr. Carl Adatto, Dr. Ian Stevenson and Dr. Henry W. Miles. The forum was held at the LSU Medical School.
