Criminal district court Judge Frank T. Echzabal today refused to release James L. Cooper on bond and ordered him remanded to Parish Prison to await trial for the murder of his estranged socialite wife, Diddie Woolfolk Cooper,
Defense attorney Richard Dowl-ing announced immediately there would be additional technical pleadings in behalf of Cooper.
Counsel for Cooper said just before the bond hearing they would seek to have the murder case transferred out of New Orleans on grounds of prejudice if Cooper were denied bail.
