[PHOTO CAPTION READS] [PHOTO CAPTION READS] OPEN WARD FOR PSYCHIATRIC PATIENTS at Charity hospital ultimately will be converted into bedrooms for ultramodern facility being constructed. New style unit should be in operation by July 1 if materials arrive on schedule. Present progress will be shown at open house 7-8 p. m. Wednesday.
[PHOTO CAPTION READS] PRIVATE BEDROOMS will be used for most patients in the new unit when completed. Nurses will escort patients to private rooms. Adverse influence of open wards for such patients thus will be avoided, doctors note.
GROUP THERAPY IS CONDUCTED BY PSYCHIATRIST in third-floor unit. Patients with similar ills are encouraged at such sessions to discuss their problems with each other; the psychiatrist offers his help where needed. Student nurses and other Charity hospital personnel posed for these pictures.
