Transcript/Translation	My Lord, we have experienced and we are still experienc- ing here one of the most severe winters, which will always be con- sidered as an extraordinary phenomenon below the 30th parallel. The lower part of this colony, although 12 degrees farther south than Provence, usually has the same temperature. The summer here is excessively hot, and the winter only cold enough to freeze from time to time the surface of still waters and prepare the rejuvenescence of nature.
