The MAROON Vol. XXXVII, No. 4 C Friday, October 23, 1959 Sweet And Sassy Lass Gathers Military Laurels Eyes right, and snap to, people! Little Colonel is on parade! Gathering the laurels in the recent ROTC election was Miss Bonnie Smith, sociology senior, and one of the most interesting girls around. A native of New Orleans and a Sacred Heart Academy graduate, Bonnie first attended Barat College at Lake Forest, Illinois. For two years she has graced Loyola's campus, but with the coming of January she will leave us, degree in hand to pursue a career in social work. Blonde, friendly, mad about progressive jazz, all apply to this girl with the charming smile. Her spare time is divided among numerous extracurricular activities: Phi Theta Alpha social sorority, of which she is vice president; the Inter-Sorority Council; the Social Science Club; the Philosophy Club and various intramural teams, to mention a few. Talking to people, wasting time and playing cards are her "hobbies" in that order. She likes records ,too! Friends say that Bonnie is an expert high diver, although she modestly denies it, but she does admit that she loves swimming and water skiing. An animated personality linked with a sweet disposition and a generous share of good looks thrown in for fair measure add up to one very special young lady—Little Colonel, vintage 1959. 31 FROSH COMPETE Twelve freshman council committee posts will be up for grabs in campus-wide elections Monday and Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the quadrangle.
