the MAROON Vol. xxxvi Loyola University, New Orleans, La., Friday, November 14, 1958 No. 6 Moot Couriers In Austin Three Loyola law seniors are in Austin, Texas, to participate in the ninth annual Southwestern Moot Court Regional competitions, today and tomorrow.Marcel Garsaud, Eugene J. Murret, and A. J. Capritto compose the Loyola team, which is one of nine college teams competing. The other schools represented are Tulane University, Louisiana State University, the University of Texas, Southern Methodist University, the University of Houston, Texas Southern University, the University of Oklahoma, and the University of Arkansas.Title of the court is: "the United States versus the Akro Corporation." The case is fictitious but involves real law and deals with a current controversy: should corporations be allowed to make expenditures in connection with the election of a United States senator? In this case the appellee, the Akro Corporation, contributed $8,600 to the New England Electronics Manufacturers Association, a trade organization, which in turn sponsored a program on which a United States senator was endorsed for re-election. If Loyola wins the regional competitions, the team will be invited to New York for the finals. Last year the Loyola team was defeated in the finals by the University of Notre Dame. MARCEL GARSAUD EUGENE J. MURRET A. J. CAPRITTO Seventeen Acts On Talent Night Big Show Coming Seventeen acts will be featured on the 21st annual Blue S; . Key Talent Night program on Monday, December 8. As opposed to previous years, this year's talent night will be held in the Fieldhouse instead of in the Municipal Auditorium, general chairman Pat McGinity announced. Competition will be held again this year with trophies If and banners being awarded to the winners. The acts are divided into individual, skit and group divisions with separote awards in each division. Highilght of the evening will be the official presentation of the 1958 campus queen, Camille Tamborello, and her j|: court of six maids including, Maria Cicero, Helen Gubbels, HI Mizie Olivier, Pat Galivan, Ruby Reed and Yvonne Boening. I Competing for top honors in the individual division are: John Wilmot, A&S senior, comedy; John Failla, music senior; Rosemary Falgout, music sophomore; Paul Lapeyre, A&S sophomore, and Charles Pitington, A&S frosh, vocalists; Max Thornton, music frosh; Anton Cangelosi, BA ; \ junior; and Adrienne Adler, music frosh; pianists; and Bobf } by Haydel, A&S sophomore, organist. In the skit competition Sigma Alpha Kappa, fraternity, Cj Lambda Sigma Lambda, sorority, ond a group from evening pj division will be vieing for top laurels. The group competition includes "Four SAKs,', vocal quar§p tet; excerpts from "The King and I" by a med tech group, a 40 voice chorus of Tri Phi sorority coeds, a Dixieland jaz* I|| band, and Erin Lambert and Paule Van de Voorde in a vocal duet.
