Favret has been named cadet colonel while Patton and Prytavin have been selected as the batallion commanders,. Favret Heads ROTC Appointments Clarence Favret, law school senior, has been appointed Cadet Colonel for Loyola's ROTC Regiment for the present semester according to Lt. Col. Luther Barth, Commandant. Roland Hymel, past Cadet Colonel was commissioned at the end of the last semester. Composing the regimental staff along with Favret are: Lt. Col. Albert Daniel, Supply Officer; 2nd Lt. Joseph Wirth, Training Officer. Capt. Ronald Styron is commander of Company C. His staff is: Ist It. Carroll Sonnier, Executive Officer; Ist Lt. Paul Rutledge, Supply Officer; 2nd Lt. Ralph Guerra, Claude Marquer, and Constance Marquer are Training Officers.Capt. Donald Styron is commander of Company D. His staff is: Ist Lt. Celentano Gets Lead In 'Pilate' Preliminary casting for the second annual production of Leo Zinser's original Passion play, "Pilate," resulted in the selection of Richard Celentano as Pontius Pilate. This will be the first time that Zinser directs his own play, however, due to his illness last year, which forced him to relinquish his duties. For the most part, the play will be the same as that which "substitute" director George Kelly presented last year. Changes will be mainly in the form of additional dialogue in the presentation slated for Holy Week, March 30 through April 4. Many of the initial performers are Copponex will again be seen in her role as Procla, P|late's wife. Other members of the original cast are George Kelly as Caiphas, the high priest; Richard Smith as Annas; Ted Pfister as Glaucus; and Claude Riche as Joseph of Arimathea. New cast members include Janice Hogan. as Mary, Sonny Trepagnier as a Centurion, Claire Favrot. and Joan Gravois. Lee Freeland and Ken Offan will handle staying and lighting. New 'No Parking'  Parkling alongside the Maroon office has been prohibited. Faculty will use the space. Bachechi Prefect Of BA Sodality Carol Bachechi, BA freshman, was elected prefect of the newly organized sodality for business administration girls at their second meeting Monday, Feb. 23 at 12:30. Other newly elected officers are: vice-prefect, Barbara Jas; secretary, Joan Danner; and treasurer, Rosalie Parrino. The sodality, which meets Mondays at 12:30, will be given a title in the future. Lenten Movie Set For Tonire "King of Kings/' the second of the Friday Lenten movies will be presented tonight in Marquette auditorium following services in Holy Name Church. It will also be shown at 3 p.m. St. Ives Sodality of the law school sponsors the movies and proceeds go to the Ceylon missions. Next Friday, March 13, the "Triumphant Hour" will be featured. Tony Pastor To Play At Prom 'Big Name' Orchestra Highlights May 79 Dance Nationally-famous Tony Pastor will play at the Junior- Senior Prom set May 19 at the New Orleans Country Club. Announcement was made today by Bill Scarlato, chairman of the Student Council dance committee, that contracts have been mailed to Pastor and that Loyola would be assured of its first "big-name" band. The action climaxes months of work by Scarlato and the council which began the project at the beginning of the year. Pastor will be making his second appearance in New Orleans within a year. Last February his celebrated orchestra opened the Jung Hotel's Cotillion Room. The famous scat singer got hit first break in the music world when he was featured as a vocalist and musician in Vincent Lopez's band. He came into prominence as a member , of Artie Shaw's orchestra and his present group contains many of Shaw's old band. Pastor also started Rosemary Clooney on her rise to fame and has made many special arrangements on recordings that have proved continuously successful. Of these, "Begin the Beguine" and "Sunny Side of the Street" are still popular. The New Orleans Country Club was named as the site of the dance by Scarlato and Jim Quaid. Admission is tenatively set at $5.50 per couple. TONY PASTOR N. O. Opera Guild Recruits Members Students were invited to join the New Orleans opera College Guild, which entitles them to attend reviews of operas and" operatic presentations at reduced prices, by Mrs. John Dominguez, vice-president of the alumnae, who addressed the Student Council last Wednesday. By purchasing a membership card for $1, students can hear reviews by noted New Orleans critics. By bringing the card to Werlein's they can obtain a reserve seat in the orchestra for the presentation of the opera at the reduced price of $1. The money will go toward a $1,000 scholarship fund for a student chosen by the Guild members. Students may obtain membership cards from any Student Council member. Spanish Consul To Speak Here Antonio Cirera, consul of Spain, will speak on "The Spiritual Bonds Between Spain and Spanish-America" March 12 in Marquette audv torium, under sponsorship of the Pan-American cluh. In addition to Mr. Cirera's talk, musical entertainment will be presented by Latin American students on the campus. Performers will be Josefina Alonso, Humberto Valladares, Milagros Santiago, and Charles Clark. Members attired in typical Spanish costumes will form the background on the stage. The program is being given to bring out the culture of Spain,and other Spanish-speaking countries, Mario Velasquez, Pan American club president, said. It is free of charge and open to the public. Retreat Set; Classes Off Students who have not signed up for a closed or a campus retreat will be obliged to make the general retreat on the campus Wednesday, March 18 through Friday, March 20. The retreat is for students in the colleges of arts and sciences, pharmacy, music, and business administration.Classes will be cancelled for students in these colleges during the time of the retreat. Mid-semester examination dates and plans have been changed due to the retreat schedule. They will be conducted from Monday, Mar. 23 through Tuesday, Mar. 31 during the regular 50-minute class period.. Since there will be no departmental examinations, classes will meet according to schedule. FIRST PRESIDENT of Cardinal Key, national honor sorority, recently established on the campus, it VERNA SATTERLEE, A&S senior. She will head the group's initial project of recruiting co-ed student* from high schools in New Orleans.
