I ■ I Loyola students charged in two incidents By Michael Nissman Contributing writer Two suspects in connection with stabbing post bail A Loyola student posted $25,000 bail on five counts of aggravated battery earlier this week. Gustavo Antonetti, international business freshman, I9,was arrested along with criminal justice junior Joaquin Rosales- Aramduru, 21, and Tulane student. Eugenio Lacayo, communications sophomore, according to Sgt. Paul Accardo of the New Orleans Police Department. Rosales-Aramduru also facesfive counts of aggrated battery. Antonetti paid the bond on Tuesday and was back on Loyola's campus Wednesday. Antonetti will have to set a court date with a judge and lawyer to move forward with the ase. Although The Maroon did not find any official information on Rosales-Aramburu, Ted Cotton, English writing associate professor, said Rosales-Aramburu came to him and explained why he had missed class. Cotton said R os a 1 e s - Aramburu told him he had been cleared of the charges and released on his own recognizance."1 hope it's true. He's a valued studnet," Cotton said. Lacayo also posted bail for $10,000, Lt. Chris Thome of the NOPD Public Affairs Division said. He was charged with one count of aggravated battery. A ourt date has also not been set. NOPD had not established a motive as of Thursday morning in the stabbing of a Loyola senior last week. But Aeeardo said officers are investigating a report that several men had an argument with the victim on the night of the attack when they were thrown out of a party at a private residence near the campus. Authorities issued arrest warrants for the students last Friday and arrested them within a few days. Officials said at least three men attacked a fellow student around 3:30 a.m. on Sept. 22, in the 6400 block of Freret Street. Lacayo turned himself in Friday around 5:45 p.m. and was booked on aggravated battery. According to police, finance senior Michael Lloyd was walking home from a party when several men confronted him outside of Tulane's Howard-Tilton Memorial Library. "I'm saying we're not handling the investigation, NOPD is. Whatever information they have, it's not in our jurisdiction so it would be pretty inappropriate for us to comment on what someone else is doing." - ROGER PINAC, UNIVERSITY POLICE CAPTAIN, on his department's handling of the nearby stabbing. Complaints prompt Tuck' raid By Kelly Brown Staff writer Agents issue 61 underage drinking citations Saturday Agents from the Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control raided Friar Tuck's bar Saturday night, resulting in 61 underage drinking citations and the arrest of three people. According to eyewitnesses, around 1 a.m. the music stopped and the lights turned on. An undercover ATC agent announced that a bust was in progress, and an employee of Tuck's told patrons that they should cooperate fully with the officers. The agents told the group that everyone must show their I.D.s when asked. Those who were 21 and older were allowed to leave the bar. Steve Spalitta. director of enforcement at the Louisiana State Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control, said that the inspection came about after a complaint filed with the NOPD and undercover ATC officer observations earlier in the week. Spalitta said that out of 214 patrons, 170 were younger than 21. "According to our CPA audit, if all the drink sales were to those of drinking age, each person would have had 15 drinks," Spalitta said. "Roughly 80 percent of those present were not of age to drink." Six undercover ATC agents were inside the bar prior to the raid. "Before the uniformed officers arrived, 1 only had six agents inside, and of course, six people can only do so much," Spalitta said. "My agents issued about 10 citations apiece, which to me is phenomenal. If we'd had more people there would have been more citations." According to Allie Weed, a business management freshman who received a citation, almost all of the females had drinks because it was ladies' night. "Most of the girls had cups in their hands. Even if the cup was empty, they got busted," Weed said. "The cop didn't ask what the drink was, he just asked for my license."
